Attacks on Sarah Palin from McCain campaign staffers
November 6, 2008
These attacks have been pretty disgusting. The New York Times has a good run down of them here. I will have more to say about this later, especially how McCain and Palin need to respond to this, but for now, this from Byron York is very much on target: “The question here is not whether Palin was a good or a bad choice for vice president. Reasonable people disagree on that one. It’s about the character of the McCain campaign. There is no doubt that it included some fine people who, whatever their opinions, wouldn’t be involved in this kind of behavior. But it also, obviously, included some who would. John McCain ran for president, to some large degree, on the character he had displayed throughout his life. Not so for some of those around him. What a bunch of losers.” I will only add that it is these guys who are very much responsible for any damage that Palin suffered to her public image during the campaign, and now they are trying to damage the best start that the GOP has for reviving its future.
